Our Wedding

Placing all trust in our Maker, the Determiner of what is to come, we humbly give ourselves to Him, Christ Jesus, and together in His will come together as one. For Christ alone shall receive all glory, with our union we pray that His will be done. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate -Mark 10:9

Peace and Promise

I can’t help but be reminded of the story of Noah.

The Bible says that God found Noah righteous in a generation that was increasing in corruption, the wickedness of man was great and every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually (Genesis 6:5). God was sorry he had made man and had sovereignly decided that he would destroy every living thing except Noah, his family, and all living things brought with him within the ark. After being commanded to build the ark, store every type of food eaten and bring all types of animals into the safety of the ark, Noah obeyed and was saved from the waters of the flood.

During that time, all flesh died that moved on the earth, all swarming creatures and all mankind (Genesis 7:21) He blotted out every living thing including creeping things and the birds of the air, and water prevailed 150 days (Genesis 7:23-24)

But God remembered Noah,

and all the beasts  and livestock with him, and God made a wind blow over the earth and the waters subsided (Genesis 8:1) On the seventh month on the seventeenth day the ark rested on the mountains of Ararat, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountain were seen (Genesis 8:4-5)

After forty days Noah send a raven and it flew until the waters were dried upon the earth

Then he sent a dove,

To see if the waters had dried up from the ground, but finding no place to set her foot she returned to the ark (Genesis 8:9)

Seven days later she was sent out and brought back a freshly picked olive leaf,

Seven days after that she was sent out again but did not return,

(Peace)

When commanded by God to get out, he, his family and all things kept under the ark of safety were freed to multiply.

Noah built an altar to the Lord and sacrificed some of every clean animal and bird

And when the Lord smelt the aroma, the Lord said in his heart “I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the intention of man’s heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever strike down every living creature as I have done.

While the earth remains, seed-time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.” Genesis 7: 20-22

(The Promise)

Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him…I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth…I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth… When the bow is in the clouds, I will se it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” Genesis 9:8-16
